despicable me evaluation

I just recently saw despicable me in theaters and I thought it was a high quality KIDS movie. Let me stress that it is a hardcore all out children’s film. I like it because it does appeal to a smaller percentage of kids in that it incorporates orphaned girls into the plot which does play a huge role in how the rest of the movie rolls out. On the other hand I think that the movie was a stretch on reality even for little kids. One main point that stuck out to me the most wasn’t that the dog...though barked like one. Did NOT look like one at all and chances are that the kids watching the movie will look at the dog and be very confused as to why their dog doesn't look like that. But for the rest of the movie everything is believable for a small child. The minions are believable just because little kids have never seen one before and thus have no perception as to if they actually exist or not. The music selection is good to hold kids attention and while I was in the theater at the end during the credits the kids in the theater stood up even and started dancing. Overall I think this is a great children’s movie and that its worth buying for next Christmas or renting for a family movie night.
